MEZ: reiner, my creative heart seemed to do funny thingz when i first looked at 'current'.... 4 some reason [don't know if u've pre-empted this viewer reaction deliberatelee] the scene u've chosen resonates with me on a number of levels: 1)it has a distinctly common-yet-unfamiliar feel, like i could walk to the edges of my town and find a similar scene there [without the architeXtural L-ements obviously]..but still feel dislocated at the alienarity of the landscape (specific fields and trees/vines etc)? 2)i am reminded of a childhood game of spinning around and around n 'round until my head hurt and the whole world spunblurred at the corners 3)the pastel colours chosen for the background may also heighten this childhood meme.ory base ............... Reiner: tomorrow belongs to yesterday here belongs to otherwhere but today is the day the problem surrounded in 'current' is a very actual but also timeless one 'the question' of the definition of myself thru experience, thru life and in cyberstream there is this soul-body conflict which has to be solved (but not only there) and it is the problematic of collaboration itself in which one becomes the other and the other becomes myself ............. Christy: - au courant- Byrd,Charlie Au Courant Je vous tiendrai au courant. I'll keep you informed. I'll keep you current. I'll keep you in the flow, in the know. You will be au courant. I used to think this meant on the run, in the course of traffic, in the course of the river. But of course, this was wrong. It really refers to red currants in old French (well who would know, who would be au courant with currants), groseilliers would be, of course. Well, the current is taking me downsteam now. Red stains everywhere. We stamp out the currant essence as though we were making the finest wine. The tart, sweet taste....must run. .............. Alan: I've taught in Halifax a lot and am familiar with the explosion, not that this is major content - but I've walked the areas where the blast blew, and the fortress which stopped the blast, and and and.
